突破英语小学教材是特别为中国小学生编写的较为科学、系统、操作性很强的英语学习教材。本套书采用了较为科学的突破英语“十六字”教学法，即“词汇领先，听说跟上，适当集中，扩大流量”，从听、说、读、写、唱、演等多方面全方位地提高学生的英语学习水平和实际应用能力。
    整套教材共分8册，总词汇量为2800个，俩俩对话460句，情景会话48个，文章168篇，大小语法项目30多项。一二册以语音、口语、分类认读词汇为教与学的主线；三四册以认读记忆词汇、学习基本的语法规则、强化口语训练为教与学的基本点；五至八册在进行词汇、口语训练的同时，着重加大学生的阅读量，以拓宽视野、开发智力、培养和提高学生创造性思维能力为教与学的宗旨。
